What is Success
It has been my experience in asking the question: what is success that there is as many variations as there are people. There is a fairly common thread however and that is “being able to do what I want when I want to.” This definition is doingness and is not beingness. This definition also means there is some dimension of time freedom and financial freedom.
Have you ever met people who have time and financial freedom and who are not happy and they do not consider themselves successful? Your answer is likely yes. Have you ever read stories of people who have won big money in the lottery or have earned big money maybe in professional sports, or some other very public profession and who are now destitute or broke? Of course you have. So do you think their monetary success brought them happiness?
Don’t misunderstand me. I think it is very difficult to be at a consistent level of peace and happiness if you are broke. There are many articles on this blog that are devoted to achieving your potential including monetary success.
So what is it. What is success?
Matt Furey published an article #1 Path To Success at his blog http://psycho-cybernetics.com/blog/ I like Matt’s work and recommend you visit that site and register for his updates and get the free report he promotes. Part of that article is “How often do you take a few moments during your day to think about all the things, all the people, all the circumstances you’ve had, are having – or will soon have – and how marvelous it is to be in your shoes – with or without the problems that go with it?” His point is “an attitude of gratitude”
Dan Lok presents this wonderful 14 minute message on gratitude along with a visualization exercise that is enormously powerful
For me in order to feel successful with any thing I achieve I must express gratitude in my heart and often to others. The more I do this the better I feel and you will too.
